Sin embargo es posible que te alojes lejos del centro o que por algún motivo necesites el transporte público de Granada. Por eso te damos aquí algunos consejos sobre cómo moverse en Granada y te describimos los transportes públicos.

Granada is a small city where you can find everything at hand. Most of the monuments are close and you can even go to the Alhambra on foot.
However, you may book a hotel that is far from the city or for any reason you need the public transport in Granada. That’s why we give you here some tips about moving around Granada and describe you the public transport.
El Autobús Urbano/The City Buses

Hay tres tipos de autobuses urbanos en Granada: los autobuses rojos grandes, los autobuses rojos pequeños (microbuses) de la Alhambra y el Sacromonte, y los autobuses grandes azules (aunque también pueden ser rojos) de la línea 4. Esto puede confundir a las personas que vienen de visita a Granada.
En la línea 4 existen dos tipos diferentes de sistemas para la compra de billetes: comprando o recargando en la parada en las máquinas expendedoras antes de subir al autobús, o pagando directamente al conductor.
Esto dependerá de si la parada dispone de máquina expendedora o no.
La línea 4 tiene 31 paradas, 19 de estas paradas tienen las máquinas expendedoras (son las que se hallan en el centro) y el resto no las tienen.
En estas 19 paradas que tienen máquina expendedora NO debes subirte al autobús sin antes comprar y validar tu billete o tu bonobús. En el resto de las paradas de ésta y otras lineas, que no tienen máquina expendedora, DEBES entrar por la puerta delantera y recargar las tarjetas o comprar los billetes pagando al conductor.
¿Cómo validar tu viaje en la máquina expendedora de las 19 paradas de la línea 4? Se hace simplemente colocando o pasando la tarjeta o ticket (el cual tiene un código de barras) por la pantalla que tienen las pequeñas máquinas que validan o en las máquinas grandes que venden los billetes.
NO puedes comprar un billete o un bonobús en los quioscos de prensa o en los estancos.
Pasa tu tarjeta por la pantalla del las maquinas expendedoras solo una vez (una vez por cada viajero). Si pasas tu tarjeta dos veces, te cobrarán dos veces.

There are three types of city buses in Granada: the large red buses, the small red buses (minibuses) that head to the Alhambra and Sacromonte, and the large blue buses (although they can also be red) for line 4. This can be confusing for people who come to visit Granada.
On line 4 there are two different types of ticketing systems: buying or recharging at the ticket machine in the stop before boarding the bus, or paying the driver directly.
This will depend on whether the stop has a ticket machine or not.
Line 4 has 31 stops, 19 of which have ticket machines (these are the ones in the city centre) and the rest do not.
At these 19 stops that have ticket machines, you should NOT get on the bus without first buying and validating your ticket or bus pass. In the rest of the stops of this and other lines, which do not have a ticket machine, you MUST enter through the front door and reload the cards or buy tickets by paying to the driver.
How to validate your trip in the ticket machine of the 19 stops of line 4? It is done simply by placing or passing the card or ticket (which has a barcode) on the screen of the small validation machines or on the large machines that sell the tickets.
You CANNOT buy a ticket or a bus pass at newsstands or tobacconists.
Swipe your card over the ticket machine screen only once (once for each traveler). If you swipe your card twice, you’ll be charged twice.

El billete ordinario cuesta 1,40 euros. Un viaje utilizando la tarjeta de transporte público (Credibus) cuesta entre 83 y 87 céntimos. Con un Bono Joven o con un Bono Universitario un viaje cuesta 61 céntimos.
El bono mensual cuesta 41 euros (viajes ilimitados durante 30 días) y puede sólo ser usado por una persona en el mismo espacio de tiempo, ya que entre una cancelación y otra tienen que pasar tres minutos.
Con el Bono Pensionista o Bono para Discapacitados el viaje es gratuito.

El metro de Granada es una nueva línea metropolitana que cruza la ciudad de norte a sur, uniendo así la capital con los pueblos cercanos de Armilla, Albolote y Maracena.

El precio de un billete ordinario del metro de Granada es de 1,35 euros. La ida y vuelta: 2,70 euros. Al comprar un bono monedero el precio del viaje es más barato: 82 céntimos (ida).
Tarjeta Mensual (40 €) y Tarjeta Bono Plus 45 (35 €) todavía no están disponibles.
El metro de Granada tiene una zona tarifaria sin saltos.
La tarjeta del consorcio de transporte metropolitano de Granada es la única que permite el transbordo a los autobuses urbanos, precio total 1,61 euros (metro + bus).
Viaje gratuito para los niños de 0 a 3 años. En este momento no hay ningún descuento para los jubilados o para las familias numerosas.

Los sabados y domingos empieza una hora más tarde, de 7:30 de la mañana a 23:00 con una frecuencia de 15 minutos.
Los viernes, sábados y vísperas de festivos hay un servicio Búho desde las 23:00 hasta las 02:00 de la madrugada con una frecuencia de 30 minutos.

The Grenada light rail operates from Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with a frequency of 10 minutes.
Saturdays and Sundays begins one hour later, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with a frequency of 15 minutes.
On Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays there is an Owl Service from 23:00 to 02:00 in the morning with a frequency of 30 minutes.
Moverse en Coche/Moving Around by Car

Se debe tener en cuenta que existe una restricción al trafico en algunas de las calles del centro de la ciudad. Para el resto de las calles del centro existe una limitación de velocidad a 30 KM/hora. Si necesitas llegar a un hotel situado en el centro, te recomendamos que contactes con el hotel, ya que normalmente los coches que llegan a estos están exentos de esta restricción, pero debes avisarlo al hotel.
Por otra parte, puedes encontrar bastantes aparcamientos púbicos donde puedes dejar el coche y moverte andando. En caso de que vengas con coche, esta es la opción que te recomendamos, ya que podrás llegar andando a cualquier parte del centro de la ciudad andando en poco tiempo.
También existen negocios de alquiler de coches tanto en la estación de trenes como en el aeropuerto, en caso de que necesites uno.

On the other hand, you can find plenty of public car parks where you can leave the car and move around on foot. In case you come by car, this is the option we recommend, as you can walk to any part of the city center in a short time.

El Autobús Turístico/The City Sightseeing Bus

EL autobús turístico recorre las principales calles de la ciudad y tiene 11 paradas. Existen dos tipos de autobús con dos recorridos, dependiendo de las calles por las que van.
Cada ticket es válido durante 48 horas y te puedes subir o bajar tantas veces quieras. La ruta completa dura unos 80 minutos y tiene servicio desde las 9:30 de la mañana con una frecuencia de 30 minutos.
El precio incluye una audioguía en español, inglés, francés, alemán, italiano, portugués, japonés o una versión en español para niños. Para adultos: 18 € y para jóvenes de 8 a 16 años: 9 €.

The city sightseeing bus goes through the main streets of the city and has 11 stops. There are two types of bus with two routes, depending on the streets they go through.
Each ticket is valid for 48 hours and you can get on or off as many times as you want. The entire route takes about 80 minutes and runs from 9:30 a.m. with a frequency of 30 minutes.

El Tren Turístico/The City Sightseeing Train

Es un tren turístico híbrido que ofrece un recorrido por las zonas más importantes de Granada: la Alhambra, el Albayzín, Plaza Nueva, etc…
Los trenes facilitan la visibilidad de los viajeros incorporando techos panorámicos en los vagones, también disponen de un sistema de audio y pantallas TFT con información sobre los puntos del recorrido, además de un espacio para personas de movilidad reducida.
El tren turístico Granada City Tour tiene paradas en la Alhambra o la Catedral, pero no incluye la entrada a estos monumentos, es solo un recorrido exterior.

It is a hybrid city sightseeing train that offers a tour though the most important areas of Granada: the Alhambra, the Albayzín, Plaza Nueva, etc…
The trains provide passengers’ visibility by incorporating panoramic roofs in the carriages, they also have an audio system and TFT screens with information about the main spots in the route, as well as a space for people with reduced mobility.
The city sightseeing train has stops at the Alhambra or the Cathedral, but does NOT include the tickets to these monuments, it is only an outdoor tour.
